Please test your candle by fully covering the solar panel with your hand to simulate darkness. If the candle’s ON/OFF switch is in the on position and the battery is charged, the LED light should turn on. Our candles are designed to automatically turn on and off in response to light – for this reason the candle light will not turn on in a well-lit room.
Instead of creating a product with an internal battery that would eventually need replacement, we designed our candles to utilize something always available to you! So you can have your candle for years, and not just until the battery runs out – Which results in less plastic waste!
No! We believe one of this product’s best features, is how low maintenance it is. Just put in a rechargeable AAA battery, turn the candle on, place it in any desired location with natural light, and never worry about it again! As long as the candle’s solar panel is exposed to sunlight it will convert that into energy to automatically recharge itself every day.
Our Enlite10 Diwali SunCandle is completely cordless! Meaning you can put your candle absolutely anywhere. When it needs to recharge simply place it somewhere with natural light.
If you wish to take your candle to a location without access to sunlight the light should last approximately 1-2 weeks if fully charged. Simply place back into sunlight to recharge.
While the Enlite10 Candle will function with a regular battery, it will be unable to recharge using the candle’s solar power and will require regular replacement. So, we recommend using a rechargeable battery (a AAA NiMH in particular) as yet another small and convenient way you can reduce your global/environmental footprint. P.S. Absolutely! Indirect sunlight will produce less power, but the Enlite10 SunCandle will still shine in the night after being recharged by indirect light. If you notice the light becoming dim place your candle in direct light to charge for approximately 12 hours.
The Enlite10 Candle may be made of plastic, but it is designed to LAST. Planned obsolescence (i.e. the creation of products with an intended expiration date meant to force customers into repurchasing) is one of the largest contributors to unnecessary waste. And that is something we set out to combat with this product. So, instead of contributing to single-use plastic waste, your product outlasts the lifespan of its battery time and time again; becoming a fixture within your home and helping you to increase your usage of renewable energy sources while simultaneously decreasing the amount of batteries and plastic you dispose of. – All of our products utilize materials that are readily available while incorporating smart design in order to bring you innovative environmental technologies at affordable prices.
Each candle’s performance is dependent on the solar panel’s exposure to light. In direct sunlight your candle will operate continuously for approximately 2 years. In indirect lighting (i.e. areas with tree coverage, tinted windows, etc.) you should expect about 30 days of run time before the LED light begins to dim or not last throughout the entire night. Although the life cycle of the Enlite10 Candle is extended through its use of solar energy and rechargeable batteries, it is reliant on its LED light. The life expectancy of the LED is approximately 10,000 hours, meaning the candle is expected to last 4 years or more depending on use before requiring product replacement.
